State Rep. John Rogers resigned from his House District 52 seat on March 13 after pleading guilty to federal conspiracy and obstruction of justice charges related to a grant program.

A special primary election for House District 52 will be held on June 18 and a runoff on July 16, if necessary.

The general election is set for October 1.

A special election will be held on April 9 to fill the vacancy in House District 139 due to the death of Rep. Richard Smith in January.

A runoff is scheduled for May 7, if necessary.

Gov. Kathy Hochul issued a proclamation ordering a special election to fill the vacancy in the U.S. House of Representatives District 26 for the unexpired term of Rep. Brian Higgins.

The special election will be held on April 30.

Higgins, who announced his resignation citing frustrations about the growing dysfunction in Congress, will become president of Shea’s Performing Arts Center.

U.S. House District 26 covers parts of Erie and Niagara counties in western New York.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced a special election will be held on Tuesday, February 13 to fill the vacancy in the 77th Assembly District.

The vacancy was created when Rep. Latoya Joyner resigned to pursue a different professional opportunity.

The winner of this election will serve the remainder of Joyner’s term ending in the fall.

A special election has been scheduled on February 13 for state Senate District 30.

The vacancy is due to the resignation of Sen. Mike Dugan, who is running for Congress.

A runoff, if needed, will be held on March 12.

Gov. Mike DeWine announced special election dates for the 6th Congressional District seat.

U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson is vacating the seat on January 21 to become the president of Youngstown State University.

A partisan primary is scheduled alongside the state primary election for March 19, with a separate general election scheduled for June 11.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced a special election to fill the newly created District 48 seat in the House of Delegates.

After being reelected just over a month ago, Del. Les Adams noted the reason for his resignation was to make himself available for another position of service.

The special election will be held on January 9, 2024.

On January 23, 2024, a special election will be held to fill a vacant seat for the 115th Assembly District of the Connecticut House of Representatives.

Gov. Ned Lamont formerly announced the special election on December 8 in order to fill the seat vacated by Dorinda Borer.

Borer resigned on December 2 and was inaugurated as the newly elected mayor of West Haven on December 3.

Gov. Kathy Hochul issued a proclamation ordering a special election on February 13, 2024, to fill the vacancy in the United States House of Representatives Third Congressional District for the unexpired term of George Santos.

Santos was expelled on December 1, causing House Republicans to be down a seat for the next two months, with an even narrower majority in the closely divided chamber.

The seat in Nassau and Queens counties is a key piece in the Democrats’ plan to retake the House majority next year.

Former Democratic Rep. Tom Suozzi, who left in 2022 to mount a failed run for governor, is a lead contender to reclaim his old seat.

South Carolina will hold a special election in State House District 109 following the resignation of Sen. Deon Tedder, who won a special election for the Senate District 42 seat on November 7.

The April 2, 2024 election will be preceded by the primary on January 30 and a primary runoff on February 13, if necessary.

Gov. Tim Walz issued a writ of special election to fill the vacant seat in House District 52B following the resignation of State Representative Ruth Richardson.

The special election will be held on December 5.

A special primary, if necessary, will be held on November 16.

This special election date allows for the new representative to be seated when the legislative session convenes on Tuesday, February 12, 2024.

Gov. Kay Ivey announced the dates for a special election to fill the House District 10 seat vacated by Rep. David Cole after pleading guilty to a charge of voter fraud.

The primary election for the seat will be held on December 12, and if necessary, the primary runoff will be held on January 9, 2024.

The special general election will be held on March 26, 2024.

A special election has been called for Senate District 19 following the death of Sen. John Scott on August 13.

The primary will be on October 24 with a primary runoff occurring on November 7, if necessary.

The special general election will be held on January 2, 2024, just a week before the legislative session is set to begin.

A special election will be held to fill the vacant seat in Senate District 32 that was held by John Michael Montgomery.

Montgomery resigned from his seat in the Oklahoma Senate to take a position as the President and CEO of the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce.

The special primary election will be held on Tuesday, October 10.

If a special primary election is not necessary, the special general election will be held on Tuesday, December 12.
