Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has selected February 23 as the date of the special runoff election for House District 68.
The runoff election will be held to replace former Rep. Drew Springer, R, who is now in the Texas Senate.
The runoff candidates are David Spiller, a Jacksboro attorney and school board trustee, and Craig Carter, a former candidate for overlapping state Senate District 30.
Spiller finished first in the five-way special election last month, receiving 44% of the vote.
Carter was the runner-up with 18%.
Early voting for the House District 68 runoff begins February 16.

A runoff election is set for November 24 if needed.
The seat was vacated when Billy Andrews resigned in March.
The resignation, like Ramona Blackledge’s resignation in January, was due to House leadership ruling members could not collect state government pension while receiving legislative pay.

Alabama officials held a press conference announcing the March 31 runoff election will be postponed until July 14.
The press conference was held by Gov. Kay Ivey, Secretary of State John H. Merrill, and Attorney General Steve Marshall.
Merrill believes this new date will allow for the electoral process to continue in a normal manner.
He also says the delay will allow all local election officials the time to assess and evaluate the changes needed to ensure the runoff election is administered according to plan.

Claudia Rodriguez and Debbie Torres face off in the runoff after they had advanced from the December 14 election where four were competing for the seat.
Both are campaigning to keep taxes low and to increase structural repairs.

Appointed U.S. Senator Luther Strange and former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore will be going head-to-head on September 26 because neither candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote in the first round of the Republican primary election.
President Trump and establishment Republicans have lined up behind Strange, but Moore has wide appeal among religious conservatives across the Yellowhammer State.
The winner of the runoff election will face Democrat Doug Jones, a former U.S. Attorney who coasted to victory in the first round, on December 12.

Rep. Mark Formby vacated the District 108 seat to become chairman of the state Workers Compensation Commission.
The election is set for July 25, 2017, with a runoff, if necessary, on August 15.
The qualifying deadline for candidates is June 5.

Without a single candidate securing a majority of votes in Tuesday’s election, Trenton voters must head to the polls for a second time to elect a mayor. A runoff election is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10.
Eric Jackson, the former city public works director, is considered the favorite candidate. Coming into the race Jackson took the lead in campaign financing, while challenger Paul Perez focused his energy on running a positive campaign. There will also be a June 10 runoff for council candidates in the East Ward.

NYC Runoff Election to be Held October 1st
Election goes forward despite Thompson’s concession
Democratic mayoral candidate William Thompson conceded and threw his support behind leading vote-getter and fellow Democrat Bill de Blasio.
However, because Thompson failed to withdraw from the race by the September 13 deadline, the mayoral runoff will continue to appear on the runoff ballot.
The runoff election is set for October 1, 2013.
De Blasio will face Republican Joe Lhota in the November 5 general election.

Primary candidates tied after second recount
A judge has set October 2, 2012 as the date for a runoff election for a state House primary race.
Two recounts were conducted in the democratic primary for the 5th assembly district between Brandon McGee and Leo Canty.
The second recount resulted in a tie between the two candidates.
