State and Federal Communications works to create, implement, and sustain a culture of DEI by incorporating practices into the company’s leadership activity, dialogue, hiring, policies, and communications. Recognizing the value of having cross-departmental collaboration, the company formed a DEI-focused working group, whose vision is led by President and CEO Elizabeth Bartz.
If DEI efforts are to be genuine and lasting, we need to cultivate culture change with clear goals, roles, and relationships.
The Diversity in Government Relations (DGR) Coalition Industry Pledge is the first of its kind, industry-wide commitment from corporations, firms, non-profit organizations, associations, think-tanks, and other entities that influence local, state, and federal policy to ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion is prioritized internally and externally.
By signing this Pledge we made the following commitment:
We commit to increasing understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and its impact on the government relations field; intentionally addressing the gaps in diverse representation of our staff and our leadership teams that influence local, state, federal and international policy; and exploring the unintended consequences that result from policy and advocacy that lack diverse representation, voice, and perspective.
