Gov. Tony Evers issued an executive order calling for a special election on July 13.

The election will fill the Assembly District 37 seat being vacated after Sen. John Jagler was elected to the 13th Senate District.

A primary, if necessary, will be held on June 15.

Rhode Island Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea announced a special election for Providence City Council Ward 15 on July 6.

If required, a special primary election is scheduled for June 8.

The city council seat is vacant after Sabina Matos was confirmed and sworn in as lieutenant governor of the state earlier this month.

The winner of the special election will serve the remainder of Matos’s term until the end of 2022.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced special election dates for Congressional District 15 to fill the vacancy due to Steve Stivers resignation to become the president and CEO of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce.

The dates August 3 for the special primary and November 2 for the special general election are the same as the special election to fill the vacancy in Congressional District 11 created by the departure of Marcia Fudge, who is now the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

The regularly scheduled primary election for ballot issues and municipalities remains on May 4.

Rep. Steve Stivers announced he is resigning from Congress on May 16 to become the president and CEO of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce.

Stivers has been representing Ohio’s 15th Congressional District since 2011 and had been viewed as a potential candidate to run for the seat held by retiring Republican Sen. Rob Portman.

A decision on when to hold the special election for Congressional District 15 will be made by Gov. DeWine and has not been announced.

Voters in Ohio’s 11th Congressional District will choose the successor to former Rep. Marcia Fudge in a special primary on August 3 and the special election on November 2.

Voters in New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District will go to the polls June 1 for a special election to fill the seat left vacant by Rep. Deb Haaland.

Haaland was confirmed to lead the Department of the Interior on March 18.

The district consists of Torrance County, most of Bernalillo County and just parts of Sandoval, Santa Fe and Valencia counties. Only those living in these counties will vote.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced a special election for November 2 to fill the vacancy in U.S. House District 11 created by the departure of Marcia Fudge, who is now the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

The special primary election will be held August 3, whereas the regularly scheduled primary election for ballot issues and municipalities remains on May 4.

The Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives announced a special election for House District 60 will be held on May 18 during the upcoming primary election.

The seat is vacant after Jeff Pyle announced his retirement due to health issues from battling cancer and recovering from a stroke in 2020.

Candidates for the office will be selected by a process designated by their respective political parties.

The winner of the special election will serve for the remainder of Pyle’s term until the end of 2022.

Gov. Ned Lamont scheduled a special election for Assembly District 145 on April 27.

The seat became vacant after Patricia Miller was elected to the Connecticut State Senate on March 2.

There are no primaries, and candidates will be nominated directly by political parties.

The winner of the special election will serve the remainder of Miller’s term until 2022.

Pennsylvania election officials have scheduled a special election for Senate District 22 on May 18.

The seat became vacant after John Blake resigned on March 8 to work for U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright.

There are no primaries, and candidates will be nominated directly by political parties.

The election falls on the same day as the municipal primary.

The winner of the election will serve the remainder of Blake’s term until the end of 2022.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom issued a proclamation declaring a special election for the 54th Assembly District on July 20.

The seat was vacated by Sydney Kamlager who was voted to Senate District 30.

The special primary election will be held on May 18.

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has announced another special election to be held in 2021.

This election will be for Alabama House District 78, which became vacant when Rep. Kirk Hatcher won the special election to fill the vacant Senate District 26 on March 2.

The primary election for the House seat will be held on May 25 with a runoff election on June 22, if necessary.

The general election will be held on September 7.

Governor Ned Lamont today announced a special election for Assembly District 112 on Tuesday, April 13.

The district consists of the entirety of the Town of Monroe and portions of Newtown.

The seat became vacant on February 17 following the resignation of J.P. Sredzinski.

The winner of the special election will serve the remainder of Sredzinski’s two-year term through 2022.

Gov. Mike Dunleavy has introduced a proposal to borrow $356.4 million for a variety of construction projects across the state.

The proposal calls for a special election this coming spring or summer to allow voters to ratify or reject the plan.

If a borrowing plan passes the Senate and House, it must also be approved by voters statewide.

The governor is also proposing a special election to speed the process.

The election would take place between 90 and 120 days after the Legislature adjourns its regular session.

Rhode Island lawmakers announced a statewide special election for March 2.

The special election relates to bond proposals seeking voter approval to borrow $400 million related to education, green infrastructure, transportation, housing, and arts funding.

Voters have the option for mail-in ballots, early voting in-person, or voting in-person on the day of the election.
