Big changes coming to U.S. House district map
The Washington State Redistricting Commission has released a plan for a new map of congressional districts for the state. It must be approved by the Commission by January 1, 2012.

Common Cause Seeks to Stop Redistricting in R.I.
Redistricting has become a hot topic in Rhode Island as a proposed new congressional map appears to greatly benefit U.S. Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I.).
Common Cause Rhode Island released a statement asking the state to stop the redrawing of congressional districts.

U.S. Supreme Court to Hear Texas Redistricting Case
Campaigns and Fundraising Affected by Competing District Lines
The U.S. Supreme Court has announced it will hear arguments on January 9 regarding Congressional and State Legislature districts in Texas. This has put Texas campaigning and fundraising in a state of confusion.

North Dakota Special Session Ends
Disaster Relief and Redistricting
North Dakota lawmakers wrapped up a special session on Friday after providing millions of dollars in additional disaster relief and repealing a law requiring the University of North Dakota to keep its Fighting Sioux nickname.
The five-day special session also produced a new redistricting map and items related to the Environmental Protection Agency in an attempt to defend hydraulic fracturing in the state.
