The special general election will be held on February 1, 2022.
The House District 63 seat has been vacant since former Rep. Bill Poole took over as state finance director on August 1.

The Louisiana February 6 special primary election and March 20 special general election for House District 35 are canceled.
A special primary election was originally scheduled for February 6 followed by a special general election on March 20 to fill the vacancy in House District 35.
Stephen Dwight, who previously held the seat, resigned December 1, 2020, following his November election as Calcasieu Parish District Attorney.
Brett Geymann, a former state representative, was the only one to file for the House District 35 seat and qualify before the filing deadline of January 8.
A Republican, Geymann was the District 35 state representative from 2004 until he was term-limited in 2016. Louisiana does not have lifetime term limits, allowing Geymann to run again for the House seat.
Geymann will be sworn in on January 19.

If no candidate receives a majority of the votes in the special primary election, a special runoff election will be held on May 14, 2016.

Louisiana Special Election to Be Held on November 16
House District 87
On November 16, 2013, a special primary election will be held for the Louisiana state House District 87 seat. State Rep. Girod Jackson III resigned in August due to allegations of federal tax fraud.
If no candidate receives a majority of the votes in the special primary election, a special runoff election will be held on December 14, 2013.

Special Elections in Massachusetts Announced for First Suffolk Senate District and Eighth Suffolk District House
Overlapping Election Dates
Special election dates for a Massachusetts Senate seat and a state House seat have been announced by the Secretary of State.
The special primary election for the First Suffolk Senate District seat will be held on April 30, the same date as the special primary election for the U.S. Senate seat recently vacated by Senator John Kerry. The special general election for the Senate seat will be held on May 28.
May 28 will also be the special primary election date for the Eighth Suffolk District House seat. The special election for the house seat will be held on June 25, the same date as the special general election for the U.S. Senate.
The House election is being called to fill a vacancy caused by the resignation of Representative Martha Marty Walz. The Senate election is being called to fill a vacancy caused by the resignation of Senator Jack Hart.
