Secretary of State Warner announced the official registration dates for a special election to fill the seat vacated by former state Supreme Court Justice Menis Ketchum.
The special election will occur concurrently with the general election on November 6.
Ketchum recently agreed to plead guilty to a felony criminal count of wire fraud for using a vehicle and fuel card owned by the state for personal travel.
Ketchum resigned effective July 27 with two years left on his term.

On July 27, 2015, a jury found state Rep. Steve Kraus guilty of fifth-degree felony theft. Under Ohio law, Kraus was automatically removed from his seat in the Ohio House upon his conviction.
Kraus, who also works as an auctioneer and real estate agent, was accused of removing items from the home of an elderly woman. He asserted he had been granted permission to enter the home and it was his fiduciary duty to remove the items.
However, the woman’s real estate agent stated Kraus was only given permission to enter the garage to photograph an antique car.
Kraus faces up to 12 months in prison. The sentencing will be held on August 21.

New York Bill Would Forbid Lobbying by Convicted Lobbyists
JCOPE Would Have Authority to Remove or Extend Suspension after Mandatory Period
New York Senator Gustavo Rivera has introduced Senate Bill 6533 that would forbid lobbyists convicted of class D felonies or more serious offenses from lobbying in the state for three years.
The barred person may seek to re-register as a lobbyist with the Joint Commission on Public Ethics after three years.
The commission may determine if the suspension should be lifted or extended for a maximum of an additional two years.
