Virginia lawmakers reconvened for a one-day session to debate Gov. Youngkin’s various vetoes and amendments to legislation.
The vetoed bills included a bill concerning the right to contraception, the skill games regulations bill, and a tax decrease.
Lawmakers agreed to set aside the version of the budget passed in March and plan to meet for a vote on a new compromised version in a special session beginning May 13.
The new budget needs to be approved before June 30 to avoid a government shutdown.

New Hampshire Lawmakers will return to session on September 15 to decide whether to override eight vetoes issued by Gov. Sununu.
Because the veto session follows the state’s primary elections, some senators and representatives may participate even after losing their primaries.
In addition to considering veto overrides, lawmakers will also consider new legislation related to fuel assistance payments.

The Mississippi Legislature plans to reconvene its session on August 10. The legislature’s return will focus on the recent vetoes by Gov. Tate Reeves, as well as legislation concerning the Department of Marine Resources and education budgets.
