The Missouri House voted unanimously today to reject the resignation of Rep. Rick Roeber.
A bipartisan group of lawmakers argued the House Ethics Committee should complete its investigation into allegations Roeber sexually and physically abused his children.
Three adult children of Roeber publicly alleged that in 1990 he molested his adopted daughter when she was 9 years old.
Despite the allegations, which became public more than a month before Election Day, Roeber defeated his Democratic opponent by 300 votes.
The House Ethics Committee launched an investigation in January.
It was close to completing its work when Roeber announced his resignation on Tuesday, stating he had to step down because he was moving out of the district.
The committee plans to issue its report next week.

Bernalillo County Commissioner Debbie O’Malley is requesting the county attorney investigate donations to the political action committee (PAC) New Mexicans for New Mexico, which is supporting County Commission candidates Steven Michael Quezada and Robert Chavez.
There is a $1,000 cap for contributions from people doing business with Bernalillo County, but disclosure reports reveal owners of businesses with city contracts donating to the PAC in amounts exceeding the limit.
The matter has been referred to the county’s ethics commission for further investigation.

Baltimore City’s primary election results have been ordered to be decertified by state election officials, and a precinct-level review of irregularities is being conducted.
The decision comes in response to a discrepancy between the number of voters who checked in at polling locations and the number of ballots cast, which were higher than the number of check-ins. State elections officials became concerned when they learned Baltimore city officials certified their primary election results and later located 80 provisional ballots which were never analyzed.
The investigation into these discrepancies is expected to continue throughout next week.

A male member of her staff made the complaint against her.
Wozniak’s attorney, Steven Cohen, would make no comment beyond stating the representative is cooperating with the ethics panel and fully expects her to be exonerated.
