Alabama Special Elections Scheduled

Following the Supreme Court decision regarding the Voting Rights Act, Gov. Kay Ivey has called for a special election in U.S. House Districts 1, 2, 6, and 7.  A suit has been filed to request an injunction on these special elections however, with a three judge panel requesting motions to be filed by Friday, May 15. If allowed to go ahead, the special elections will be held on August 11 with no runoff.
