California Governor Calls Special Election

Gov. Gavin Newsom called for a special election to address authorization of state redistricting. Maps within the state of California are drawn by an independent commission and will require the voters to approve a state ballot measure allowing for such a redistricting effort. The election is set to coincide with the November 4 general election.
