Public Relations Assistant


State and Federal Communications, Inc., an Akron based research, publishing, and consulting company, with national presence, seeks a qualified professional to join our team in a multi-task position as a Public Relations Assistant

 

The Public Relations Assistant will assist the President in various aspects of public relations. This is a full-time position and is classified as non-exempt for overtime requirements. The multi-task position will include the following functions:

  • Accomplish related tasks as needed
  • Assist the President in planning the 25th anniversary for the company with receptions in Akron and in Washington, DC
  • Assist in the creation of the scrapbooks for the employees celebrating 10-year anniversaries
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of clients and vendors and manage dissemination of holiday and anniversary cards and gifts
  • Produce copy, take photographs at events, and film video
  • Write and repurpose material for digital media
  • Edit and contribute to company newsletter
  • Edit other materials as needed
  • Assist Manager for Corporate Social Responsibility with community projects
  • Create and administer a consistent program of training opportunities for clients
  • Research and develop press releases, media advisories
  • Assist with creating media lists, pitching media, and arranging interviews with local and national media
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Assist in general administrative duties as necessary in the office

Event Planning:

  • Assist with events and event planning, along with community outreach and networking opportunities
  • Assist with the preparation of sales presentations by assembling quotations, proposals, videos, webinars, and product capability booklets; compiling account and competitor analyses

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • Fluent in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Detail orientated with exceptional organization skills
  • College degree in public relations, communications, or journalism
