In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we thought we would raise up everything we could find that is Irish.

A great place to start would be the Irish-American lobby – the Irish National Caucus website. They have a blog, too, so you can keep up on government relations news of Irish-American interest. The big news item right now is the U.S. Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe will be holding a congressional hearing on Northern Ireland: “Northern Ireland: Why Justice in Individual Cases Matters”.

Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny is in Washington today for the St. Patrick’s Day festivities and will be meeting with both Vice President Joe Biden and President Barack Obama.

The White House has done its part to recognize the Irish-American contribution to American life by offering a Presidential Proclamation declaring March Irish-American Heritage Month. Apparently, the Washington Examiner says President Obama is even brewing his own beer – a presidential first – called “White House Honey Ale.”

Speaking of Irish-American lobbying, here is a Roll Call article from one year ago today, “How Irish Americans Paved the Way on K Street” by Anna Palmer. The Irish Times has an interesting article on Irish European lobbying: “Irish political lobbying: who’s who and how does it work?” from March 2010.

Though I haven’t a drop of Irish in me, today we all are Irish:
